For those who purchase gasoline in portable cans

In response to the explosion and fire that occurred in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto Prefecture in July 2019, a ministerial ordinance (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Ordinance No. 67 of 2019) was promulgated to partially revise the regulations on the regulation of hazardous materials. With this revision, when refilling gasoline into a container and purchasing it, it became obligatory to verify the identity of the user, confirm the purpose of use, and create a sales record.
Examples of documents that can be used for identity verification
Driver's license, My Number card, passport, or other certificate issued by a public institution with a photo Note: In the event of an earthquake, wind and flood damage due to heavy rain or typhoons, or long-term power outages, identity verification and purpose of use confirmation can be omitted.
Confirmation of purpose of use
Confirm the specific contents such as "Fuel for agricultural machinery" and "Fuel for generators".
