[Ending at the end of December 2020] Special alert emergency email

Updated: October 28, 2022

The Japan Meteorological Agency began operation in 2015 and is distributing special warnings for heavy rain, storms, storm surges, waves, heavy snow, blizzards, and volcanic eruptions to people in target areas by email. We have announced that automatic distribution will end at the end of December.

Note: Distribution of earthquake early warnings, tsunamis, and major tsunami warnings will continue.

One of the reasons why the Japan Meteorological Agency is discontinuing distribution is that municipalities have made it possible to replace disaster prevention information by email or disaster prevention radio as a means of providing information to residents.
For this reason, you can receive disaster prevention information by registering for the city's email distribution service, ``Disaster Information Mail.'' Please take this opportunity to register for the city's email distribution service.
