When you hear the National Instant Warning System (J Alert)
Update date: December 6, 2022
In response to the increasing possibility of a missile attack occurring in Tokyo, Tokyo residents are encouraged to protect themselves by taking appropriate evacuation actions in the event a National Instant Warning System (J-Alert) is issued. To help you, we have created a leaflet with the motto "When you hear the J-Alert, immediately run away, leave, and hide."
If you hear the J alert, immediately run away, leave, hide (PDF: 1,025KB)
In the event that a ballistic missile is launched, the city has a system in place to immediately notify citizens via disaster prevention administrative radio that is automatically activated upon receiving a J-Alert, and also sends area mail and emergency alerts to mobile phones, etc. At the same time as the email is being distributed, the same content will also be distributed to those who have registered for the Inagi City email distribution service (disaster information email).
Please take this opportunity to register for the city's email distribution service.

The city is prepared to accurately and promptly implement measures to protect its citizens in the event of an emergency, based on the Inagi City Civil Protection Plan, but regarding the situation in neighboring countries, The city receives information from the government and mass media and does not obtain it on its own. We ask all citizens to pay attention to information from the media, etc.
Overview of the nationwide instantaneous warning system (J-Alert)
Information regarding situations where there is no time to respond, such as ballistic missile information, tsunami warnings, and earthquake early warnings, is transmitted from the government (from the Cabinet Secretariat and the Japan Meteorological Agency via the Fire and Disaster Management Agency), and municipal disaster prevention administrative radio systems (broadcast system), etc. This is a system that instantly transmits emergency information from the government to residents by automatically starting up.
Information via J-Alert will be sent to a wide range of people in areas where caution is required against ballistic missiles, using the civil protection warning siren sound.
