QuestionAre there any measures to reduce the burden when an insured person is hospitalized? Also, is any procedure necessary?

Response

If all members of the household are exempt from taxation, they will be eligible for the issuance of the "Late-Stage Elderly Medical Care Limit Application and Standard Burden Reduction Certification," which reduces the maximum out-of-pocket expenses paid at the time of hospitalization and meal costs. Additionally, if the taxable income of all Late-Stage Elderly Medical Care insured individuals in the same household is less than 6.9 million yen, they will be eligible for the issuance of the "Late-Stage Elderly Medical Care Limit Application Certification," which reduces the maximum out-of-pocket expenses. Except for cases where the My Number Card is used as a Health Insurance Card, an application is required for both, so please contact the Insurance and Pension Division (1st floor of City Hall).
