Online transfer notification

If you have a My Number Card, you can apply for a change of residence notification online through Mynaportal.
If you use this service, the issuance of a transfer certificate will be omitted, so there will be no need to visit the city hall counter in principle.

Note: After completing the procedure for moving out notification, be sure to go through the procedures at the counter of the municipality you are moving to. (Please bring your My Number Card)

People who can use the service

The following people moving within Japan

• Applicant himself/herself
• Persons from the same household as the applicant on the resident record

Note: Applications for moving of members of the same household (not including the applicant) can only be made if the person moving has a My Number Card. However, the person who is moving must come to the office to apply for a move-in notification/change of address notification.

Note: Those under the age of 15 and those receiving support measures cannot apply.

What you need for the procedure

• My Number Card (equipped with a valid electronic certificate)

Note: You will need to enter your PIN number to use the electronic certificate.

• Smartphone or computer and IC card reader (compatible with reading My Number cards)

Procedure period

If you apply before moving

You can apply from 30 days before you start living at your new address.

If you apply after moving

You can apply within 10 days of starting to live at your new address.

Transfer procedure for new location

• When completing the online move-out notification procedure, please set the date on which you will come to the city, ward, town or village where you are moving to and submit the move-in notification (scheduled date of your next move-in notification).
• Please bring your My Number Card to the municipal office where you are moving within 14 days of your planned move date (and 30 days after your planned move date) and submit a move-in notification. If the procedure is delayed, your My Number Card will become invalid.

Note: Transfer notifications cannot be accepted until the transfer notification process is completed. Please confirm that the "Application Processing Status" on Mynaportal is "Completed" before completing the transfer procedure.

Others

• You cannot apply if you have not decided on your move date (scheduled date) or your new address.
• Processing of the transfer notification may not be completed on the day you apply.
• Transfer notifications will only be processed on weekdays. Applications submitted on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays will be processed the next business day.
