Precautions in case of power outages due to disasters

When restoring power after outages caused by disasters such as typhoons or earthquakes, please be aware of the following points, as there is a risk of fire from electrical equipment or wiring.

  1. During a power outage, please turn off electrical devices and unplug the power plugs from the outlets.
  2. Please turn off the breaker when leaving your home during a power outage.
  3. When re-energizing, please ensure safety by checking that electrical equipment is not damaged due to water leaks, that wiring and cords are not damaged, and that there are no flammable materials nearby before using electrical equipment.
  4. Even if there is no visible damage to buildings or electrical equipment, damage to internal wiring or failures within electrical devices can lead to a fire after a long time has passed since re-energization. Therefore, if you detect any abnormalities such as smoke, please immediately turn off the breaker and contact the fire department.

Note: If you have any questions, please consult the fire department.
