Evacuation Shelters During Wind and Water Disasters

Evacuation Center

Due to the approach of a typhoon and the forecast of heavy rain, the city has designated 20 facilities, including public elementary and junior high schools and the Cultural Center, as evacuation shelters to be opened when evacuation information is issued.

Facilities in flood-prone areas will not be established. Please note that they differ in some aspects from evacuation shelters during an earthquake.

• Evacuation Shelters During Wind and Water Disasters

Evacuation by Vehicle

During floods and disasters, evacuating by vehicle can pose dangers and hinder emergency vehicles. Therefore, we generally request evacuation on foot. However, for older adults, individuals with disabilities, those with infants and young children, and pregnant or postpartum women who require special consideration, evacuating by vehicle is also an option for evacuation.

Due to limited parking spaces at the evacuation centers, the parking lots of the following facilities will be opened.

Notes

• City staff will not be stationed in the parking lot. Please make your own way from the parking lot to the evacuation center.
• No supplies will be provided.
• Parking lots will not be opened during the disaster.

Emergency Evacuation Site

In accordance with an agreement with Business Operators, the parking lots of the following facilities can be used as emergency evacuation locations in the event of a flood or when a flood is imminent.

The use of parking lots as emergency evacuation sites will be possible after discussions between the city and Business Operators in the event that flood damage is anticipated in the city.
