Landslide Warning Areas and Special Landslide Warning Areas
On March 15, 2019, Tokyo designated the Landslide Hazard Areas and Special Landslide Hazard Areas in Inagi City.
- Landslide Hazard Area (commonly known as: Yellow Zone)
An area recognized as having a risk of harm to the lives or bodies of residents in the event of a landslide, where a warning and evacuation system should be particularly established to prevent landslides. - Special Warning Area for Landslide Disasters (commonly known as: Red Zone)
An area recognized as having a significant risk of damage to buildings and a serious threat to the lives or bodies of residents in the event of a landslide disaster.
Number of Special Landslide Warning Areas (as of March 28, 2023)
- Landslide Hazard Areas: 280 locations (275 locations of steep slope collapses, 5 locations of debris flows)
- Special Warning Areas for Landslides: 221 locations (217 locations of steep slope collapses, 4 locations of debris flows)
