In order to enable individuals with disabilities to drive and move independently, some driving schools actively provide training. The costs for driving lessons will be subsidized as outlined below.

Eligible Individuals

Persons aged 18 or older with physical disabilities or intellectual disabilities who meet all of the following criteria

  1. Those who have passed the driving license aptitude test and hold a Physical Disability Certificate of grade 1 to 3, or a Love Certificate of grade 4 or higher. However, those with internal disabilities of grade 4, or lower limb or trunk function disabilities of grade 4 to 5 who have difficulty walking are also eligible.
  2. Those who have been residing in Inagi City for more than 3 months
  3. Individuals whose annual Income Tax from the previous year is 400,000 yen or less
  4. Those who have not received assistance for the costs required to obtain a license through other systems

Subsidy Amount

In the case of a Class 1 ordinary driver's license, it is two-thirds of the eligible expenses such as admission fees and training fees at driving schools. However, it is limited to the following amounts.

Procedure

Before enrolling in the driving school, be sure to consult and apply with your seal and certificate (Physical Disability Certificate or Love Certificate).

Note: When a person with a physical disability or an intellectual disability obtains a driver's license, they may meet the passing criteria by wearing assistive devices or by limiting the type of vehicle, depending on the degree of their disability.
