Is your meal okay? "Meal Balance Guide"
Update date: November 4, 2020
The ``Meal Balance Guide'' is an illustration of what and how much you should eat in a day, using the image of a spinning top. If you eat a well-balanced diet and exercise, the spinning top will rotate stably, but if your diet is unbalanced, the spinning top will fall over. Are your tops spinning well?
Meal balance guide
The daily dietary intake required for adults (based on 2,200 kcal plus or minus 200 kcal, which is the approximate amount of energy that most women and men with low physical activity intake per day) is expressed in the unit SV. (“SV” is an abbreviation for serving, which is the standard amount of each dish.)
Meals are categorized in the following order: staple foods (rice, bread, noodles), side dishes (vegetables, mushrooms, potatoes, seaweed dishes), and main dishes (meat, fish, eggs, soybean dishes) that should be consumed in sufficient amounts each day. Milk, dairy products, and fruits are considered to be of the same level and are expressed in parallel.
