Every June is Shokuiku Month, and the 19th of every month is Shokuiku Day.

Shokuiku is about cultivating human beings who can practice healthy eating habits by acquiring knowledge about food and the ability to make food choices in order to nurture a healthy and rich humanity throughout our lives.
In order to promote Shokuiku, the national government, local governments, and related organizations are cooperating to carry out Shokuiku promotion campaigns under the Shokuiku Basic Plan. Every year, June is designated as “Food Education Month” and the 19th of each month is designated as “Food Education Day”. Let's take this opportunity to gather around the dining table with your family and think about food.
