"The Dietary Balance Guide" is an illustration that shows what and how much you should eat in a day, imagined as a spinning top. When you eat a balanced diet and exercise, the top spins steadily, but if your diet is unbalanced, the top will fall over. Is your top spinning well?

Diet Balance Guide

The daily meal quantity required for adults (based on the guideline of 2,200 kilocalories plus or minus 200 kilocalories, which is the energy intake for most women and men with low physical activity) is expressed in the unit SV ("SV" stands for serving, which is the standard amount per serving for each dish).
The categories of meals are arranged in the order of staple foods (rice, bread, noodles), side dishes (vegetables, mushrooms, potatoes, seaweed dishes), and main dishes (meat, fish, eggs, soybean dishes), while milk, dairy products, and fruits are considered to be of similar importance and are presented in parallel.
