Area expected to be flooded

Update date: April 26, 2023

Tama River flood expected area

On May 30, 2016, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism designated and announced the "flood-prone areas" that are expected to occur in the event that the Tama River system, the Tama River, the Asa River, and the Oguri River, flood.

This map shows the results of a simulation of the areas that would be inundated by external water flooding and the depth of the flooding if the largest imaginable rainfall (total 48-hour rainfall in the Tama River basin of 588 mm) falls. It represents.

Flood inundation simulation

You can view the results of a simulation of flooding in the event that heavy rain falls on the Tama River, Asa River, and Oguri River and the river embankments burst.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has released the Asakawa area, Oguri River, and Misawa River basin expected flooding area map (January 2020) and Tsurumi River basin expected flooding area map (October 2018).

This map shows the case of heavy rain with a maximum 24-hour rainfall of 690 mm and maximum hourly rainfall of 152 mm in the Okuri River and Misawa River basins in the Asakawa area, and heavy rain with a maximum 24-hour rainfall of 772 mm and maximum hourly rainfall of 163 mm in the Tsurumi River basin. This shows the results of a simulation of the areas that will be flooded due to external water flooding and internal water flooding, and the depth of the flooding if it rains.
(This is created independently by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and is not based on the Flood Control Law.)
