QuestionWhat is the Land Readjustment Project?

Response

The Land Readjustment Project is a project based on the Land Readjustment Act, where landowners gradually provide land (reduction) within the range of increased value due to the project. This land is then utilized as new Public Facilities such as roads and parks, aiming to develop an orderly urban area. This project aims to improve the living environment and to shape residential land for enhanced utilization.
Instead of the land acquisition method typical of general public works, this project employs a method called land readjustment, which rearranges individual residential lots in the most accessible way while considering previous conditions, in conjunction with the development of Public Facilities. The implementing bodies include individual implementation, cooperative implementation, administrative agencies such as prefectures and municipalities acting as organizations, and independent administrative agencies like the Urban Renaissance Agency and housing supply corporations.
