QuestionI received a tax notification even though the Municipal Resident Tax and Tokyo Metropolitan Resident Tax are being deducted from my salary.

Response

Do you have any income other than the salary from the company that conducts salary withholding (such as Pension, business income, real estate income, dividends, or capital gains)? In that case, only the salary income portion from that company will be withheld, and you will need to pay the difference yourself. If you wish to have the entire amount withheld, please contact us. Additionally, the tax return forms for the municipal and Tokyo Metropolitan Resident Tax include a section where you can indicate whether you prefer to pay the difference or have everything withheld from your salary.
