QuestionCan any seal be registered as a registered seal?

Response

There are certain regulations for the seals that can be registered.

  1. This represents the name (surname, given name, combination of names) as stated on the Certificate of Residence.
  2. A seal impression that fits within a square with a side length of 25 millimeters and is larger than a square with a side length of 8 millimeters
  3. Items that are less likely to deform due to hand carving, etc.
  4. Other seals that are not suitable for seal registration

Note: Mass-produced seals (so-called three-mon-han) are not desirable as registered seals, so please avoid them.
For details, please see the "Seal Registration" page.
