Let's celebrate, weave, and spread together

Inagi City will celebrate its 50th anniversary as a city on November 1, 2021.
We are reflecting on the past 50 years, celebrating with everyone, and carrying out various projects to connect to the future as we look forward to the next 50 years.

Basic Policy of Commemorative Projects

Based on the principles of the Inagi City Citizen Charter, we will carry out projects from the following three perspectives.

  1. [Celebrate] Many citizens, from children to adults, participate together with the city to celebrate the 50th anniversary and create a lively atmosphere.
  2. [Weaving] By learning about and reflecting on the history and charm of Inagi City that has been built over 50 years, we cultivate and pass on our affection for Inagi City.
  3. [Spread] By communicating the charm of the city, Inagi City will be revitalized and create opportunities for PR.

Citizen Proposal Project

To implement projects suitable for everyone to "celebrate," we conducted a proposal solicitation for commemorative projects from October to December of the first year of Reiwa, and we received proposals for 40 different projects from the citizens.

Recruitment Details

  1. A project suitable for celebrating the 50th anniversary of city administration
  2. Projects that many citizens can actively participate in
  3. Projects that receive support from many citizens
  4. Projects to be completed in fiscal year 2021

Citizen Proposal Project

Based on the recruitment details, a comprehensive review was conducted, and it has been decided to budget and implement the following projects. Thank you very much to everyone who applied.

Creation of Inagi City Song

When we called for submissions for the lyrics and music of the Inagi City song, we received 45 lyric submissions and 169 music submissions from across the country. As a result of the review by the Inagi City Song Formulation Committee, composed of experts, and the Mayor of Inagi City, the lyrics were decided to be by Osamu Asakura (resident of Sapporo City), and the music by Yuki Takahashi (resident of Yanokuchi, Inagi City).

Photo Contest

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the city's establishment, we held a photo contest to enhance the citizens' affection and pride for their town, connect to a greater excitement, and improve the city's appeal.

Creation of Commemorative Magazine

We have created a commemorative magazine to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the city system implementation.
This magazine introduces the history and charm of Inagi, which has been built over the past 50 years, through photographs and interviews with citizens involved in various local activities.

Commemorative Video Creation

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the city system implementation, we created this video with the hope that our town, Inagi, will once again evoke a sense of attachment and pride, and that this baton will be passed on to the next generation.

Establishment and Operation of Amateur Radio Commemorative Station

The "Inagi Amateur Radio Club" operated the commemorative amateur radio station "8N1ING" for four months from October 1, 2021, to January 31, 2022, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Inagi City. Through operations within the city, as well as on Mount Fuji and Mihara-yama on Izu Oshima, information was disseminated to amateur radio stations both domestically and internationally, promoting Inagi City.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the city system implementation on November 1, 2021, a commemorative ceremony was held at the Central Cultural Center Hall on November 6, 2021.

Creation of Commemorative Logo Mark

We received 135 submissions in a public call for a commemorative logo from across the country. After evaluation by experts and the mayor, the work of Dr. Uranbe (a resident of Nakano Ward) was selected. To encourage many people to utilize the logo and to enhance the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary, the logo can be used free of charge for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Inagi City, we will sell a stamp set featuring the landscapes of Inagi City and characters associated with the city.

50th Anniversary of Inagi City System Implementation Commemorative Film Screening "Ninomiya Kinjiro"

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Inagi City, a screening of the movie "Ninomiya Kinjiro" was held at the Central Cultural Center Hall on November 7, 2021.

Crown Project

In addition to other projects implemented by City Hall, we will celebrate together with events organized by citizen groups and others that are co-hosted or supported by the city, marking the 50th anniversary of the city's establishment.
