Absentee voting at designated hospitals, etc.

Those who are hospitalized or admitted to hospitals, nursing homes, etc. designated as absentee voting facilities by the prefectural election management committee, and who are unlikely to be able to go to the polling place on the day of the election are eligible.

Note: Please refer to the table below for designated facilities in the city. To find out if a facility outside the city is designated, please contact the facility.

Requesting a Ballot

If you ask the staff of the facility, the head of the facility will request a set of ballots from the election administration committee.
Note: Absentee voting can be done from the day after the election day (notification date) to the day before the election date (election day), but the procedure takes time, so please ask the staff of the facility as soon as possible.

Sending Ballots

After receiving the request and comparing it with the electoral rolls, we will send a set of ballots to the director of the facility.

In-facility voting

Follow the instructions of facility staff and vote inside the facility .

Sending Voted Ballots

Sending to the Electoral Commission

The facility director will send the voted ballot in an absentee ballot envelope to the board of elections.

Send to voting station

On the day of the election, we will send your voted ballot in an absentee ballot envelope to the designated polling place in the city by the end of the voting period.
