Businessman Road Racer

In September 2018, the "UCI Gran Fondo World Championships" was held in Italy, where Takashi Kurisu, a businessman and road racer residing in Yanokuchi, participated and successfully completed the race.
This was Kurisu's second participation, following the 2017 event.
Due to transportation issues, he arrived significantly late to the competition venue, which meant he faced a challenging situation without sufficient rest and energy replenishment before the race.
However, leveraging his previous experience, he was able to calmly approach the race by researching the dangerous sections of the course in advance.
Despite being overwhelmed by the high-difficulty course featuring cobblestones and narrow city streets in Italy, he finished the race in an impressive 193rd place out of 255 participants.
Reflecting on the event, he said with a smile, "It was a very valuable experience. I want to participate again next time and win."

Mr. Kurisu usually works as a company employee, involved in transportation planning, but he also participates in various competitions as a professional road racer.
Even with limited time, he commutes by bicycle on weekdays and focuses on intensive training on Saturdays and Sundays, covering about 1,000 to 1,500 kilometers a month, and he also maintains strength training at home.
On holidays, he enjoys leisurely cycling around the city with his wife to refresh himself.
