Purpose of the Plan

This plan aims to promote the undergrounding of utility poles in Inagi City, taking into account the trends in undergrounding at the national and Tokyo metropolitan levels, as well as the law regarding the promotion of undergrounding. It outlines the basic concepts related to the promotion of undergrounding in Inagi City and clarifies the routes that will be prioritized for undergrounding, with the goal of comprehensively and systematically advancing the undergrounding of utility poles on city roads.
Additionally, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations, the plan aims to promote "inclusive and sustainable urbanization" while enhancing resilience against natural disasters. It will facilitate smooth discussions and build a cooperative framework with relevant Business Operators, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and local residents to effectively and efficiently promote the undergrounding of utility poles.
