Basic Green Plan - Planning Document (March 2012 Edition)
Purpose of the Amendment
In Inagi City, based on the basic philosophy of "A community development surrounded by the landscape of water and greenery," established in the Green Basic Plan formulated in 1999, various measures have been developed for the conservation and utilization of green spaces, the development of parks, and community development with water and greenery. More than 10 years have passed since the formulation of the current plan, and as the planning period has expired, we will revise the Green Basic Plan for the next 10 years.
During this decade, developments such as the Tama New Town, the Land Readjustment Project, and the JR Nambu Line elevated crossing project have progressed, significantly changing the appearance of the town. Socially, the conservation of biodiversity has become a priority, and actions to combat global warming are now required of each citizen, leading to a strong interest in environmental issues. Furthermore, from the experience of the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011, there is a need for parks and green spaces that can also be used as evacuation sites for citizens to enhance local disaster prevention functions.
The revised Green Basic Plan aims to enhance the quality of greenery while utilizing the existing green spaces, taking into account the characteristics of Inagi City, which is blessed with a natural environment, historical greenery, greenery unique to Inagi, ecosystems and water such as the Misawa River and Omaru irrigation, as well as parks and green spaces that support citizens' daily leisure activities and safe living, with the goal of realizing a city where greenery always thrives alongside daily life.
