Reduced Tax Rate System for Consumption Tax (Notice from Hino Tax Office to Business Operators)

The reduced tax rate system for consumption tax will be implemented simultaneously with the increase of the consumption tax rate to 10% starting from October 1, 2019.
Not only business operators who handle items subject to the reduced tax rate, but also those who purchase food and beverages as meeting expenses or entertainment expenses, as well as tax-exempt business operators, will need to prepare for the implementation of the system, such as confirming the applicable tax rates for handled products and maintaining separate accounts for each applicable tax rate.
