Municipal school advocacy consultation

Updated: January 12, 2023

Municipal school advocacy - About correspondence of consultation

We will respond through face-to-face consultation.
Please also note that the schedule may change due to future efforts to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

What is Advocacy Counseling Office?

The Municipal School Advocacy Counseling Office is a consultation service that seeks early resolution of opinions, requests, and complaints from children and students at Inagi City schools and their parents by protecting their rights and interests. It was established on June 23, 2006.
"Advocacy" is the English word for "advocacy," which in Japanese is translated as "protecting rights," "support activities," or "speaking on behalf of others."

Purpose of introducing the system

In the field of school education, some people feel that even if they have complaints or questions, they cannot talk to the school directly, and that even if they do, there will be no improvement. In order to resolve this situation, we will set up a consultation room independent of the Board of Education and aim to increase the trust between the children/students and their parents and the school by seeking early resolution, thereby further improving satisfaction.

About Advocacy Counselors

The advocacy counselors who will receive consultations will be people with extensive education experience and will be appointed by the mayor to be the counselors who will lead the system.
Specifically, we act to protect the rights and interests of children, students and their parents, by handling consultations and moving towards solutions, and by reporting and giving opinions to the Advocacy Review Board.

About the Advocacy Board

The Advocacy Examination Committee is a third-party organization that receives reports from advocacy staff, examines problem cases for which an application for examination is made, from a fair and neutral standpoint, and recommends the results to the mayor. It consists of four judges commissioned by the mayor.

About privacy issues

By directly consulting with a third-party advocacy counselor, students and their guardians can discuss their concerns without hesitation. Privacy is also protected.
