Number of Criminal Offenses Recognized in 2024
As of October 2024, the number of recognized criminal offenses is 325, which is an increase of approximately 44.4% compared to the same period last year.

Number of Special Fraud Cases and Amount of Damage
What is special fraud?
This refers to crimes where the perpetrator impersonates a relative or a public agency employee via phone or postcard (sealed letter) to deceive the victim into believing them, tricking them into handing over cash or cash cards, or manipulating the ATM by claiming they can receive a refund for Medical Expenses, leading to the transfer of funds to the perpetrator's account (including extortion to obtain cash through threats and fraud by stealthily swapping cash cards to steal).

- Increase the number of participants in the city-wide crime prevention patrol by 10%
- Reduce the amount of special fraud damage to 50% or less compared to the previous year

This is a crime information map provided by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.
You can see the occurrence of criminal offenses in Tokyo since January of this year, as well as incidents involving children and women.

Mail Police Station
The Metropolitan Police Department will notify you via email about "crime occurrence information" that has occurred in each area and necessary "crime prevention information" to prevent crime.
- We provide timely information on incidents and other matters.
- We will also provide map information for the vicinity of the incident location.
- It is easy to register from personal mobile phones or computers.
- Registrants can freely select the delivery information.
You can only receive information that matches the combination of "received time", "received area", and "received type" that you registered. Additionally, you can select up to 97 police stations (excluding island areas) at the police station level.
Please register for "Mail Keishichou" and utilize the information to avoid becoming a victim.
