About reduction (refund) of school lunch fee
- If a student is suddenly unable to eat due to illness or personal reasons, school meal fees cannot be reduced (refunded). Also, if a student's class is closed due to influenza or other reasons, the school meal fees cannot be reduced because the food has already been ordered.
- If you do not use school lunches for six or more consecutive days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays), you can receive a reduction in school lunch fees if you notify us in advance. Due to circumstances such as ordering ingredients, we cannot reduce the fee for several days after the request, so please contact your school as soon as possible. In addition, requests must be made every academic year, so if you wish to suspend school lunches for the following academic year as well, please contact your school as soon as possible.
- Our school lunch program places the highest priority on providing safe and secure meals for your children. Therefore, due to issues with procuring ingredients, etc., we may suddenly be unable to provide some meals. In such cases, we will adjust the menu for another day, and we will not be able to refund school lunch fees.
- For children who decline milk due to unavoidable reasons such as food allergies or lactose intolerance, we will refund the equivalent of the milk fee each term. If you wish to decline milk, please contact your child's school as soon as possible. Please note that you must make this request every year.
School attendance assistance system
The "school attendance assistance system" is a system that provides financial assistance to parents who are in financial difficulty with the costs of elementary and junior high school school supplies, school lunch fees, etc. If you apply and are approved, the full cost of school lunch fees will be subsidized from the month of approval. Applications are required every year.
