2020 Cervical Cancer Screening: Target people 20 years of age or older

Cervical cancer screening

Nowadays, the number of young women in their 20s to 30s who are developing cervical cancer is increasing. Cervical cancer has no symptoms in its early stages. However, if detected early, it is a cancer that can be treated. Get regular checkups once every two years for early detection.

Guidance

  • In FY2020, those who fall under the age groups listed in the table below and have not undergone the Inagi City Cervical Cancer Screening since FY2020 will receive a "recommendation postcard" or We will send you a "free coupon".
  • If you are eligible, you do not need to apply for a medical examination ticket as described below.
Those who do not need to apply for a consultation ticket

  • 25 years old (born April 2, 1999 to April 1, 2000)
  • 27 years old (born April 2, 1997 to April 1, 1998)
  • 29 years old (born April 2, 1995 to April 1, 1996)
  • 31 years old (born April 2, 1993 to April 1, 1994)
We will send a postcard encouraging consultation in mid-April.
  • 21 years old (born between April 2, 2003 and April 1, 2004)
Free coupons will be sent in early May.

Target audience

  • Female citizens aged 20 years or older (born before April 1, 2005) who have not received a medical examination since 2020

Note : The following people cannot take the test. When deciding whether to undergo a medical examination, please follow the instructions of the medical institution conducting the examination.

  1. Those who are pregnant
  2. Those who have been diagnosed with uterine cancer and are currently undergoing treatment, or those who are undergoing follow-up observation at the hospital.
  3. Those who had their uterus removed
  4. Those who are on their period or have bleeding
  5. Those who cannot open their legs
  6. Those whose weight is 134 kg or more
  7. Those who cannot move to the internal examination table (the chair is a little high)
  8. Those who have undergone similar cervical cancer screening within the past year

Note: If you are experiencing symptoms, we recommend that you seek medical care rather than a medical checkup.
Note: If you have a chronic illness and have a family doctor, please consult with your doctor in advance about undergoing cervical cancer screening.
Note: If you have undergone surgery on your uterus and a portion of it has been removed, you may not be able to receive treatment, so please consult us when making a reservation.
Note: The test involves dilating the entrance to the vagina with a special instrument, which may cause injury.
Note: People who have never had sex are said to have a low risk of being infected with the human papillomavirus, which causes cervical cancer.

How to apply

  • Please apply for a consultation ticket at the Inagi City Health Center using one of the following methods (1), (2), or (3).

The application period begins on Monday, April 1, 2024.

(1) Postcard or sealed letter

Please write the title ``Cervical Cancer Screening Application,'' fill in the following information, and mail it to ``Inagi City Health Center.''

Opening hours: Weekdays from 8:30am to 5:00pm (closed on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and December 29th to January 3rd)

  • Self-pay: 2,120 yen


Note : 700 yen for those paying 10% of their health insurance card and 1,410 yen for those paying 20% ​​(you must present your insurance card at the reception desk of the medical institution)
Note : People in their 20s (those born between April 2, 1995 and April 1, 2005) can receive the examination for free .

Persons eligible for exemption from contribution

If you fall under any of the following categories (1), (2), or (3) as of the date of your consultation, you will be exempt from paying any copayments. Please note that you will need to complete the necessary procedures in advance .

(1) Households receiving public assistancePlease obtain a "Certificate of Protection" or "Certificate of Support Benefits" from your city hall's Life and Welfare Division in advance and submit it at the reception desk on the day of the examination .
(2) Japanese nationals remaining in China
(3) Households exempt from municipal tax

After applying for a consultation ticket, once you have received it, please bring it with you to the health center to receive a ``Confirmation Form for Exemption of Medical Examination Fee''. Please submit the copayment exemption confirmation form to the reception on the day of the examination.
Note: If you have recently moved to Inagi City and have not yet been taxed, please have a "tax exemption certificate" issued by your previous municipality and bring it to the Health Center. Please contact the Health Center for details.

Notes: Common matters

  • One certificate is required for each type of cancer screening you receive.
  • All certificates are valid for up to six months after issue .
