FY2020 Breast Cancer Screening (Individual Screening): Target people 40 years of age or older

Breast Cancer Screening

Breast cancer is a cancer that can be treated if detected early. For early detection, have regular checkups once every two years.

Guidance

  • In FY 2020, those who fall under the age range in the table below and have not undergone the Inagi City Breast Cancer Screening since FY 2020 will receive a "recommendation postcard" or "free coupon" from the city in place of the consultation ticket required for the screening. We will send you a ticket.
  • If you are eligible, you do not need to apply for a medical examination ticket as described below.
Those who do not need to apply for a consultation ticket
Age (date of birth) in 2020remarks
  • 43 years old (born April 2, 1980 to April 1, 1980)
  • 45 years old (born from April 2, 1970 to April 1, 1980)
  • 47 years old (born April 2, 1970 to April 1, 1978)
  • 49 years old (born April 2, 1975 to April 1, 1975)
We will send a postcard encouraging consultation in mid-April.
  • 41 years old (born April 2, 1980 to April 1, 1980)
Free coupons will be sent in early May.


 

Target audience

  • Female citizens over 40 years old (born before April 1, 1985) who have not received a medical examination since 2020

Note : The following people cannot take the test. When deciding whether to undergo a medical examination, please follow the instructions of the medical institution conducting the examination.

  1. Up to the 3rd day of menstruation
  2. Those undergoing treatment or follow-up at a medical institution after breast cancer surgery
  3. Those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are undergoing treatment or follow-up at a medical institution
  4. Those who regularly undergo breast examinations and doctor's examinations
  5. Those who are pregnant
  6. Those who are breastfeeding (including those who have stopped breastfeeding within the last 3 months)
  7. People who have difficulty standing on their own
  8. Those undergoing breast augmentation and hydrocephalic shunt surgery
  9. People with cardiac pacemakers etc.

Note: If you have symptoms (chest pain, lumps, etc.), please visit the outpatient clinic instead of coming for a checkup.
Note: If you have a chronic illness and you have a doctor, please consult with them in advance about undergoing breast cancer screening.
Note: At the end of the fiscal year, appointments are booked up and you may not be able to be seen.

Inspection details

  • Interview
  • Breast X-ray examination (mammography examination)

Note: According to national guidelines, people in their 40s will be photographed in two directions, and people over 50 will be photographed in one direction.

Application deadline

  • The deadline is the 22nd of each month, and consultation tickets will be sent out at the beginning of the following month.

Note : The final application deadline is December 22, 2024.

Note: The deadline for consultation is March 14, 2020.

How to apply

  • Please apply for a consultation ticket at the Inagi City Health Center using one of the following methods (1), (2), or (3).

Applications will begin on Monday, April 1, 2020.

(1) Postcard or sealed letter

Please write "Breast Cancer Screening Application" in the subject line, fill in the following information, and mail it to Inagi City Health Center.

Opening days: Weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and December 29th to January 3rd)

  • Copayment: 3,030 yen

Note : 1,010 yen for those with a 10% self-pay rate on their health insurance card, 2,020 yen for those with a 20% self-pay rate (you must present your insurance card, etc. at the reception of the medical institution)

Persons eligible for exemption from contribution

If you fall under any of the following categories (1), (2), or (3) as of the date of your consultation, you will be exempt from paying any copayments. Please note that you will need to complete the necessary procedures in advance .

(1) Households receiving public assistancePlease obtain a "Certificate of Protection" or "Certificate of Support Benefits" from your city hall's Life and Welfare Division in advance and submit it at the reception desk on the day of the examination .
(2) Japanese nationals remaining in China
(3) Households exempt from municipal tax

After applying for a consultation ticket, once you have received it, please bring it with you to the health center to receive a ``Confirmation Form for Exemption of Medical Examination Fee''. Please submit the copayment exemption confirmation form to the reception on the day of the examination.
Note: If you have recently moved to Inagi City and have not yet been taxed, please have a "tax exemption certificate" issued by your previous municipality and bring it to the Health Center. Please contact the Health Center for details.

Notes: Common matters

  • One certificate is required for each type of cancer screening you receive.
  • All certificates are valid for up to six months after issue .
