Initiatives Toward Carbon Neutrality by 2050
The city is implementing various projects aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Here is one example.
PPA Project (Introduction of Solar Power Generation Equipment and Storage Batteries to Public Facilities)
This project aims to install solar power generation equipment, storage batteries, and ancillary facilities in the city's public facilities to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and strengthen the city's disaster resilience.
This initiative not only aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also to enhance disaster resilience through securing new power sources and to promote environmental education.
For candidate facilities such as the city hall and elementary and junior high schools, we are conducting on-site surveys to determine the feasibility of installation, and facilities deemed suitable will be installed sequentially over three years from fiscal year 2023 to fiscal year 2025.
Updates on the progress of the project will be provided on this page.
(Note) Disaster Resilience ... A comprehensive ability that adds the power to recover (resilience) to the conventional preventive capabilities.

Public Facilities LED Conversion Project
In order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, we will gradually implement the upgrade of lighting in public facilities within the city to energy-efficient and long-lasting LED lighting over a period of three years from fiscal year 2023 to fiscal year 2025, with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and alleviating financial burdens through lower electricity costs.
