Declaration of Reduction in Sewage Discharge Volume
The method for calculating sewerage usage fees is based on the Inagi City Sewerage Ordinance, which considers the amount of water used from water supply and well water to be equal to the amount of wastewater discharged.
However, if there is a significant difference between the amount of water used and the amount of wastewater discharged into the public sewer due to evaporation from cooling towers or watering the grounds, this can be reported (reporting of reduced water usage).
Notes
The certification of reduced water usage applies only to the water usage for sewerage. The costs for installing private water meters, as well as management and replacement costs after installation (according to the Measurement Law, water meters must be replaced every 8 years), will all be the responsibility of the user (customer). Therefore, please be sure to consider in advance whether the expected benefits will justify the costs.
Conditions for Receiving Water Reduction
- Water used in ice manufacturing and other business activities.
- The amount of water used for business activities and the amount of water discharged into the public sewerage system are significantly different.
- The private water meter measuring the amount of water reduction is a certified product and is within the validity period.
- Private water meters are installed on the water supply pipe before the reduction points (equipment, faucets, etc.), and they are devices that directly measure the reduction amount (the amount not flowing into the public sewer).
Note: Reporting of reduction amounts measured at the drainage section is not permitted. - Appropriate construction has been carried out for plumbing and drainage facilities.
Procedure for Reporting Water Reduction
- Please consult the Sewerage Division if you wish to declare the reduction in water usage at the time of applying for drainage facilities (before construction begins). We will review the following submission materials and explain any important notes, etc.
<Submission Materials>- Application for Reduction of Public Sewerage Wastewater Discharge
- Site Guide Map
- Piping Diagram (Piping diagram of the water supply and drainage system, with all piping after the meter clearly indicated)
- Meter Specifications
- Specifications for water reduction application due to cooling towers and boilers
- Please check the conditions for receiving a reduction in water usage, install the meter, and submit the private water meter (use/change/discontinue) notification to the Sewerage Division.
- After the Sewerage Division staff confirm the submitted documents (we may also conduct an on-site inspection if necessary), we will send a response letter regarding the water reduction application to the customer.
- Please submit the water reduction declaration (sewage discharge declaration) to the Sewerage Division within 3 days of the water meter reading date.
