Updated: December 5, 2024
With the spread of home printers, approximately 200 million used ink cartridges are said to be discarded each year. In order to recycle these cartridges, four printer manufacturers are running the "Ink Cartridge Homecoming Project" (external link) .
The city is supporting this project and has set up collection boxes specifically for ink cartridges in 10 public facilities across the city.
In order to make effective use of limited resources, please put your used ink cartridges in the collection box.
You can bring it directly to the following facilities during their opening hours (including holiday opening hours ).

please note.
・Do not put anything other than ink cartridges. Toner cartridges are not included.

Ink cartridge collection box
From collection to recycling
Collection boxes full of cartridges are sent to a sorting center through the post office. After being sorted one by one by manufacturer at the sorting base, each manufacturer reuses and recycles them into recycled cartridges, cartridge parts, and other plastic products.
We also make donations to organizations working on environmental conservation activities.
