Please be very careful if you spot a deer in the city.
On October 8, 2024, around 12:00 PM, a male deer was sighted near the boundary between 5-chome and 6-chome in Tama City. Please be very careful about the following when you see a deer nearby.
If you see a deer
- Do not approach the deer
- Do not feed, do not show food, etc.
- Do not raise your voice (do not provoke or excite the deer)
- If you witness something from home, secure your doors and be careful to prevent anyone from entering your house.
Previous Sightings Information
Deer do not stay in the same place. Please be cautious around areas where sightings have been reported.
Additionally, there have been no reports of contact with humans or potential human injuries, so deer will be monitored as wildlife under the Wildlife Protection and Management Law. However, wild deer may become dangerous if they get used to humans, such as when people try to harm them or feed them.
