This project aims to create an attractive city for children and families by installing works that evoke the designs of the renowned mechanic designer Kunio Okawara, who is from Inagi City, and by holding events such as the Mechanic Designers Summit. By promoting this project, we will enhance the appeal of Inagi City, contribute to regional revitalization, promote tourism, and increase the number of residents.

Main Initiatives So Far

1 Tourism Promotion Base and Monuments

In April 2016, the "Inagi Communication Base Pair Terrace" opened under the elevated tracks of the JR Nambu Line Inagi-Naganuma Station as a hub to promote the charm of Inagi. In addition to revitalization through collaboration with nearby shopping districts, the facility provides information on tourism in Inagi, sells local specialties, and features a café space where visitors can enjoy light meals made with local ingredients.
Additionally, as part of the project, a monument of "Gundam" and "Char's Zaku" approximately 3.6 meters tall has been installed in front of the facility, and a monument of "Yatterman" is located in front of Minami-Tama Station on the JR Nambu Line.
Furthermore, design plates (14 pieces) of "Yatterman" and "Scopedog" have also been installed on the fall prevention fence of the "Shinbori" irrigation canal on the south side of Inagi-Naganuma Station on the JR Nambu Line.

2 Hometown Tax Donation Thank-You Gifts

Furusato Tax is a system that allows you to support your hometown or a prefecture/city/town you have a connection with through donations. The city presents special products as a token of appreciation to those who donate 10,000 yen or more. Among the tokens of appreciation, there are items related to the project, such as a pin badge set designed by Kunio Okawara. For more details, please check "About the I (Ai) Town Inagi Support Donation (Furusato Tax)."

3 Production of Main Visuals (From Fiscal Year 2015 to Fiscal Year 2017)

As part of the project, we have commissioned Mr. Kunio Okawara to design the main key visual featuring the city as a backdrop.
In fiscal year 2015, Inagi-Naganuma Station on the JR Nambu Line was depicted, in fiscal year 2016, Yanokuchi Station on the JR Nambu Line, and in fiscal year 2017, Yomiuriland was illustrated as the background. These are displayed in the city hall and at the Inagi Communication Base Pair Terrace.
