Partial amendment of Inagi City Fire Prevention Ordinance

Update date: April 1, 2024

Quick charging equipment

In recent years, the increase in demand for electric vehicles and other vehicles has led to a growing need for faster charging equipment with higher output. As a result, in addition to the previously available "integrated" quick-charging equipment, which combines the main equipment with a voltage transformation function with cables and other related equipment, we are now seeing the installation of "separate-type" quick-charging equipment, which consists of the main equipment and a charging post for storing cables and other related equipment.
In response to this, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications conducted a study and revised the "Ministry Ordinance Prescribing Standards for the Enactment of Ordinances Concerning the Location, Structure, and Management of Targeted Fire Equipment, etc., and the Handling of Targeted Fire Equipment, etc." by removing the upper limit on total output and adding a new definition of "separate type," and similarly revised part of the Inagi City Fire Prevention Ordinance.

Battery storage equipment

The current regulations for storage battery equipment are mainly intended for open lead-acid batteries. Recently, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has been examining fire safety measures according to the risks of storage battery equipment, and in order to create safety standards that correspond to the recent diversification of storage battery equipment and the large capacity of storage batteries, the "Ministry Ordinance Prescribing Standards for the Enactment of Ordinances Concerning the Handling of the Location, Structure, and Management of Target Fire Equipment, etc." and the "Fire Prevention Ordinance (Example)" have been revised, and the Inagi City Fire Prevention Ordinance, etc. have been partially revised.
