End-of-year city-wide crime prevention patrol carried out (December 18, 2024)
Updated: December 19, 2024
The Inagi City Safe and Secure City Planning Promotion Council has set the following goals for this year: "To reduce the number of reported criminal offenses to under 250, to increase the number of participants in the city-wide crime prevention patrols by 10%, and to reduce the amount of damage caused by special fraud to 50% or less compared to last year." The council is working to create a city where people can live safely and securely.
Thanks to the efforts of the local community, Tama Central Police Station, and the city, the number of criminal offenses reported last year was the lowest in Tokyo, as it was the previous year, and the number of offenses per 1,000 people was also the lowest, making it the "safest and most secure city in Tokyo." However, this year, the number of criminal offenses reported compared to last year has been on the rise.
In light of these circumstances, with the aim of making our city even safer and more secure, the Council for Promoting Safe and Secure City Development conducted a city-wide crime prevention patrol based at seven locations in the city. On the day, 773 people from a total of 151 organizations participated, making the event a great success.
We will continue to strive to create a town where people can live safely and securely, so we appreciate your continued cooperation in this regard.
