End of year city-wide crime prevention patrol to be carried out (December 18, 2024)

Updated: November 11, 2024

The Inagi City Safe and Secure City Planning Promotion Council has set the following goals for this year: "To reduce the number of reported criminal offenses to under 250, to increase the number of participants in the city-wide crime prevention patrols by 10%, and to reduce the amount of damage caused by special fraud to 50% or less compared to last year." The council is working to create a city where people can live safely and securely.
Thanks to the efforts of the local community, Tama Central Police Station, and the city, the number of criminal offenses reported last year was the lowest in Tokyo, as it was the previous year, and the number of offenses per 1,000 people was also the lowest, making it the "safest and most secure city in Tokyo." However, this year, the number of criminal offenses reported compared to last year has been on the rise.
In light of these circumstances, the Council for the Promotion of Safe and Secure City Planning will be conducting crime prevention patrols throughout the city, based at seven locations in the city, in order to create an even safer and more secure city. We ask for the cooperation of everyone in the community.
