As a commemorative project for the 45th anniversary of city administration, we have decided that the "City Bird," which symbolizes the city's journey so far, will be the "Common Kestrel."

In making the decision, three meetings were held by the "City Bird Review Citizens' Committee" composed of experts, related organizations, and publicly recruited citizens, and based on the results of the citizen vote, it was decided to select the "Common Kestrel".

"Chogenbo" is a type of falcon the size of a pigeon, and can be seen in areas such as near the Kasayato Bridge in the city.

Main Opinions on the Eurasian Sparrowhawk in the Citizen Vote

  • Often seen at Kasayato Bridge.
  • It is rare and not often seen in other regions.
  • It is a bird that symbolizes Inagi City, which is rich in nature, and is suitable as the city bird.
