A partnership agreement has been concluded between Inagi City and the Suntory Group regarding the "Bottle to Bottle" recycling project.

This is a new initiative for PET bottle recycling called the "Bottle to Bottle" recycling project, in collaboration with Inagi City and the Suntory Group (Suntory MONOZUKURI Expert Co., Ltd. and Suntory Food International Ltd.). An agreement was signed on May 19, 2021 (Wednesday), and the project will commence on April 1, 2022.

This agreement aims to engage in horizontal recycling of used PET bottles generated from households in Inagi City, realizing the "local production for local consumption" of PET bottles and the "visualization" of recycling, contributing to the formation of a sustainable resource-circulating society.

Effects of the Agreement Conclusion

  1. The recycling rate of used PET bottles collected from the city can be increased to about 100%.
  2. By using recycled PET bottles at the Suntory Tamagawa Factory (Omaru), we will achieve local production and consumption of PET bottles and make recycling visible to the citizens.
  3. By continuously recycling plastic resources, citizens, the administration, and business operators work together as one to achieve a sustainable circular society and contribute to the promotion of the SDGs.

Request from the City
