Formulation of Inagi City Resilience Regional Plan

Our country experienced an unprecedented disaster during the Great East Japan Earthquake, which raised questions about the existing disaster prevention and mitigation measures.
Since then, through comprehensive responses including land policy and industrial policy, the concept of "national resilience" to prepare for large-scale natural disasters has spread. Additionally, in December 2013, the Basic Act on National Resilience for Achieving a Strong and Flexible National Life was enacted, establishing a framework for promoting resilience across the country.
In our city, we have been promoting disaster prevention and mitigation measures based on the "Inagi City Regional Disaster Prevention Plan". However, due to the impacts of climate change, we have seen an increase in landslides and wind and flood damage caused by heavy rains in recent years, and there are concerns about the occurrence of major earthquakes such as the Tama Fault Earthquake. Therefore, we will formulate the "Inagi City National Resilience Regional Plan" and promote strong, flexible, and sustainable community development.
This plan will be positioned as a guideline for specific initiatives related to national resilience in our city, while maintaining harmony with the "Fifth Long-Term Comprehensive Plan of Inagi City" and ensuring consistency with various plans of the national government, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Inagi City.
