A town with a citizen charter, a rich town is nice, isn't it?

It has been 42 years since the establishment of the Inagi City Citizen Charter. (November, 2023)
Inagi City Citizen Charter
Our town of Inagi, nurtured by the lush greenery of the Yokoyama in Tama and the clear streams of the Tama River since ancient Jomon times.
We have established this citizen charter to create a hometown filled with peace and friendship, as we live in and love this town.
Let each citizen use this charter as a guiding principle to cooperate in making our town richer.
Let's cherish the sun and greenery, and create a town with the scent of earth.
Let's be aware as citizens and work together to create a livable town.
Let's create a town that cherishes children and nurtures young talent for over a year.
Let's create a town where we can work with a smile, both physically and mentally healthy.
Let's create a town that respects traditional culture, enhances culture, and has a vision for the future.
Greeting from Chairman Ikemizu of the Inagi City Citizens' Charter Promotion Council

It has been 28 years since we have been involved with the Citizen's Charter. (As of November 2021)
I believe that the provisions, which are friendly and understandable to everyone and represent a semi-permanent ideal, are something to be proud of and not ashamed to present anywhere. To instill this citizen charter among everyone, we have been carrying out projects every year. As Community Development progresses, a diverse range of people are becoming citizens of Inagi City, leading to a diversification of values. As urbanization advances, I would like to continue awareness activities that will foster a sense of solidarity among all citizens through the citizen charter.

What is the Citizen's Charter?
The development of a livable town requires each individual to accumulate small efforts to make this town even better.
The Citizen's Charter summarizes the wishes of citizens who want to live in peace forever and the things they want to keep in mind for that purpose.
42 Years Since the Birth of the Citizens' Charter (November, Reiwa 5)
In the 1970s, Inagi City, which continued to develop from a quiet rural area to a suburban residential city, saw the hearts of its citizens diversify due to urbanization and population growth.
Therefore, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the City Administration, the Citizen's Charter was established (November 1, 1981), encouraging citizens to join hands, enhance their civic awareness and sense of solidarity, and work together to promote a richer Community Development.
Inagi City Citizens' Charter Promotion Council
This council was established to promote a citywide movement based on the Citizen's Charter.
It is the only one in Tokyo that is a member of the National Council for the Citizens' Charter Movement. This is a place where people involved in the citizens' charters of various cities gather once a year to exchange opinions and study. It is clear that every town is putting their heads together and being creative in their awareness activities.
The population has nearly doubled in the last 40 years, and the number of households has increased by about 2.8 times, with further growth expected in the future.
To protect the rich nature of this town, to continue being a safe town where there is no crime, and to create a town filled with friendship where we can encourage each other, the Citizen's Charter can be said to be a guideline for the citizens of Inagi City to move towards the same goal.
We cannot stop the progress left by our predecessors. We are moving forward step by step today as well.
