In August 2016, a heavy rain disaster caused by a typhoon resulted in the flooding of the Omoto River in Iwate Prefecture, leading to the tragic loss of life among users of facilities for Older Adults. This has heightened the importance of promptly informing residents about river conditions. Therefore, Tokyo Metropolitan Government provides real-time information on rainfall and river water level measurements from gauges installed throughout the city via the Comprehensive Water Disaster Prevention Information System.
