On June 1, 2017, Mr. Yasumitsu Sato (9th dan), who resides in Inagi City and is the President of the Japan Shogi Association, paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Inagi City after receiving the Purple Ribbon Medal in the spring honors.
Mr. Sato has been serving as the President of the Japan Shogi Association since February, contributing to the shogi world and achieving numerous victories in title matches and tournaments.
He mentioned that he chose to live in Inagi City because of its abundant nature and good environment.
