Age for Coming of Age Ceremony from Fiscal Year 2022 onwards

Due to the revision of the Civil Code, the age of adulthood has been lowered to 18 years old as of April 1, 2022. However, holding the coming-of-age ceremony at 18 years old coincides with an important time for deciding future paths, which raises concerns about a decrease in attendance rates and economic impacts.

Therefore, Inagi City will conduct a survey of the intentions of those who will become adults in the fiscal year 2022, and based on the results of that survey and the situation in neighboring cities, it has been decided to hold a ceremony targeting those who are 20 years old for the Coming of Age Ceremony from the fiscal year 2022 onwards.

Name

The name will be changed from "Coming of Age Ceremony" to "20th Birthday Ceremony".

Eligibility

People who turn 20 during the year of the event
Example: Eligible individuals for the 20th birthday ceremony in 2023 (born between April 2, 2002, and April 1, 2003)
