Free school lunches will be implemented

On September 6th, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced to the press that, in addition to the current subsidy system under the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Public School Lunch Fee Burden Reduction Project, it will expand the "Municipality General Grant" as a new form of financial support for municipalities that implement free school lunch programs.
In response to this, we would like to inform you that our city has decided to implement free school lunches at municipal elementary and junior high schools from January 2025, as long as the subsidy level set by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government continues.
