In February 2024, six species were newly designated as domestic rare wild plant and animal species under the law concerning the conservation of species at risk of extinction by the Ministry of the Environment, bringing the total to 448 species.
Domestic rare wild plant and animal species are generally prohibited from capture, collection, and transfer based on the "Law for the Conservation of Species."
If you witness illegal activities such as capture, collection, or transfer (for example, listings on online auctions), please contact the Ministry of the Environment.
