Be careful of electrical fires

Update date: March 17, 2022

Precautions to take in the event of a power outage due to a disaster

When reenergizing power after a power outage due to a disaster such as a typhoon or earthquake, there is a risk of fire from electrical equipment or electrical wiring, so please be careful of the following points.

  1. During a power outage, turn off electrical equipment and unplug the power plug from the outlet.
  2. If you leave your home during a power outage, please turn off the breaker.
  3. When re-energizing the power, make sure that the electrical equipment is not damaged due to water leakage, etc., that the wiring or cords are not damaged, and that there are no flammable items nearby, before using the electrical equipment. please.
  4. Even if there is no external damage to the building or electrical equipment, damage to the wiring within the wall or malfunction inside the electrical equipment may lead to a fire after a long period of time has passed since the power has been turned on again, so abnormalities such as smoke generation may occur. If you discover this, immediately turn off the breaker and contact the fire department.

Note: If you have any questions, please contact the fire department.
