QuestionPlease tell me how to dispose of and the fees for the items covered by the Home Appliance Recycling Law (air conditioners, televisions (CRT, LCD, plasma), washing machines (washing machines, clothes dryers), refrigerators, and freezers).

Response

  1. Have the purchased home appliances picked up by the retailer. In this case, collection and transportation fees as well as recycling fees are required.
  2. If you do not know the retailer where you purchased the items, please request a general waste collection and transportation contractor that handles four types of home appliances (for a fee).
  3. If you bring it directly to the collection point yourself, please pay the recycling fee (a separate payment handling fee will apply) at the nearest post office, and hand over the recycling ticket and the transfer payment receipt (receipt) issued by the post office to the collection contractor.
