Kashiwa Mochi Making (Early May)

On May 5th, we will make kashiwa mochi, a traditional offering for the Tango no Sekku festival, using a mortar and pestle just like in the old days.
After making the mochi, we wrap it in kashiwa leaves to complete it.
The children also seemed to enjoy making it.

Wheat Threshing (Early June)

We will thresh the wheat grown in the field in front of the experience study institute using an old-fashioned thresher.
In the central round area, there is a drum that resembles a hedgehog, and as the drum rotates, it knocks off the grains attached to the wheat.
Additionally, the straw and other materials are discharged at the front.
