Morning Screening Film: "Itazu Bear"

Explanation

Itaz is a dialect from the Tohoku region that reveres bears as "gifts from the gods" and means "bear" in the Matagi language. It is the second Matagi-related film directed by Toshio Goto in 1982. Set in the late Taisho period in the Akita region, it is an animal film that intricately depicts the tragic fate of a bear cub raised by humans and released into the wild, where it must fight against humans.
