Our Town Inagi 2018 Ms. Shihomi Teranishi

Updated: November 8, 2018

Attractive step and speed Women's lacrosse designated player

Teranishi (24), who lives in Wakabadai, belongs to the women's lacrosse team "FUSION" and represented Japan at the World Cup held in England last July.
Currently, as a designated player, he is working hard every day to participate in the World Cup in three years.
Lacrosse is said to have originated as a Shinto ritual of the indigenous peoples of North America, and was introduced to Japan in the 1980s.
It is a sport in which 12 people in one team compete for points by putting the ball into the opponent's goal with a stick with a net at the end.
When Mr. Teranishi entered university, he was fascinated by the fast-paced sport with a wide variety of shots, and joined the lacrosse club.
As soon as he started playing lacrosse, he made a name for himself, and has been active as a member of the Japanese national team since his third year at university.

While working as a regular office worker, I go to the gym two to three times a week after work, participate in lacrosse practice four times a week before work and in the evening, and practice with the club team on Saturdays and Sundays. and lacrosse instruction.
As a midfielder who is the starting point of offense, Mr. Teranishi's playing style is to beat foreign players with his fine steps and speed.
In the World Cup they participated in last year, they lost in extra time against Israel in a match for the best eight, and ended up in ninth place. Looking back on this tournament, she said, "The moment I lost, I was able to positively set goals that I should tackle. It was a tournament that allowed me to grow."

Teranishi's goal is to participate in the World Cup three years from now, and to liven up Japan with his beloved lacrosse. There is a possibility that lacrosse will be one of the competitions at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and participating in the Olympics is one of my goals. To that end, he enthusiastically said that he would like to achieve results over the next 10 years, convey the appeal of lacrosse to many people through his own play, and improve the environment surrounding lacrosse.
I was very impressed by the way he clearly looked at the future and talked seriously about what he would do to achieve it. Let's support further activities in the future.
