In order to improve the working and daily life convenience of physically disabled people, we provide assistance with the cost of assistive devices and repair such devices.
If you wish to use this service, please be sure to consult with the Disability Welfare Division in advance.
Note: As of April 2024, income restrictions for the provision of prosthetic device expenses for children (under 18 years of age) have been abolished.
Those who have a physical disability certificate and those with designated intractable diseases. However, those who are covered by nursing care insurance should use the nursing care insurance system for items covered by the insurance (issuance of wheelchairs, etc.). In addition, for prosthetics that are temporarily required for treatment, other systems may take priority, such as health insurance.
We provide benefits for the following items.

As a general rule, the user will have to pay 10% of the standard amount of the assistive device purchased or repaired (the standard amount varies depending on the device), and there is a maximum monthly payment amount depending on the household income as shown below. In addition, any amount that exceeds the standard amount will be your responsibility in full.

The households whose income is determined are as follows.

In addition, if there is a person in the household whose municipal resident tax income tax rate is 460,000 yen or more, they will not be eligible for public funding.
For children (under 18 years of age), income restrictions were abolished from April 2024.

Please note that if you apply after purchasing the device, we will not be able to reimburse you for the assistive device cost.
Also, depending on the type of assistive device, a written opinion from a doctor or a judgment from the Tokyo Mental and Physical Disability Welfare Center may be required.
