Q&A overview

Contents of question Answer

About disaster prevention
I moved from the New Town area to the Yanoguchi area, and looking at the hazard map, it seems like the area would be flooded in the event of a Tama River flood. Even if I look at the map, I don't know where I should run.

The city has designated evacuation centers for various disasters, not just floods. Guide maps and disaster prevention maps will be revised this year and distributed to all households from late October onwards. When a disaster occurs, the city strives to quickly disseminate information, but please check the map first.
We also believe that if you participate in local evacuation drills, you will be able to gain practical knowledge.

About iBus
The iBus route and timetable have recently changed, but I think there aren't enough buses. I wish they would run at least one bus per hour. It's hard for passengers to use. There are few buses, which is very inconvenient.
Also, looking at the timetable, it seems like there are many cases where transfers are not possible. I definitely want them to improve this.

First of all, please understand that i-Bus is not a door-to-door individual service, but rather serves as a complement to route buses.
We have received a variety of opinions from users regarding the i-Bus, and some have expressed their gratitude as the new route has allowed the bus to reach areas that were not previously serviceable. . On the other hand, we have also received some critical feedback, saying that if one side stands up, this side does not stand up, making it inconvenient.
In this revision, we considered the role of community buses. Community buses run routes throughout the city that are not operated by private businesses due to unprofitability. The more they run, the more they run in the red. This will result in the taking out of the materials. Therefore, a certain level of profitability must be considered.
From the viewpoint of how to widely and effectively utilize the city's limited financial resources, we have created this revised route while listening to the opinions of user representatives and private public transportation operators. In the future, the Nambu Line Once the construction work around the station is completed, buses will be able to run in front of the station, and in line with that, we are starting a second phase review from this fiscal year.

Regarding future urban development
When I saw the urban planning master plan, I was interested in how the town would change as a result of future urban development.

The government makes various plans regarding the direction of town development, but in reality, the actual town development progresses after coordination with many stakeholders, including rights holders and local residents.
The urban planning master plan does not impose any specific restrictions on land use, but rather it is a compilation of the city's ideals and guidance theory that it would like to achieve. Although the proposal has been approved by the parliament, it may not actually proceed as planned.
However, if the city does not provide guidance at all, it is possible that narrow roads will be created and emergency vehicles cannot enter, so the government will be indirectly involved in providing guidance.

About the Bullying Problem Countermeasures Council
The Bullying Problem Countermeasures Council will be launched from this fiscal year, but the relationship with the Civil Welfare Children's Committee and the Human Rights Protection Committee, which have been active for a long time, is unclear. What do you think about this?

The Bullying Problem Countermeasures Council is a new initiative that will be established within the mayor's department, rather than within the Board of Education, in addition to the existing efforts. This does not negate the activities of civil welfare and children's committees, etc., which have been active for a long time, nor does it compete with them.
This is an initiative in which school officials and local police, along with experts, deepen their knowledge on how to appropriately respond to bullying issues.
